# She will stack a nature DOT on the MT so tanks must be rotated. The DoT is not resistable, so the MT's should not gimp their Armor/Defense/HP too much to wear NR gear. HP pool is most important. Let the tanks get comfortable with the rotation - 2 or 3 tanks need to rotate due to stacking DoT. After one tank switch, light DPS can be started (but don't over-aggro). Try to keep mana high, ready for an outburst at 30%.

# Huhu is immune to taunt. For this reason, tank rotations can be tricky. Tanks can use invulnerability potions or Blessing of Protection to drop agro.

# Position is very important for the fight. 15 people need high NR because she enrages and spams poison volley at 30%. These 15 "NR soaks" must be close-ish to her. She will chuck poison volleys at them repeatedly. Once one of the 15 soaks dies, people with low NR will start taking massive damage. Therefore it is imperative to keep all 15 soaks alive.

# She has a AoE Wyvern Sting (sleep effect) that will hit the ten closest people. Do not dispel Wyvern Sting (especially on Rogues!) as the dispel causes 3-4k insta-damage. It can be resisted. Wyvern Sting can be removed from the tank that is trying to get aggro. (next in the tank rotation) If the current tank is trying to lose agro, let him sleep.

# Noxious poison deals ~3k DOT and silences the person that is hit directly, but it is also applied to players around the one hit. The DOT is not dispellable and as such is very dangerous. The raid must spread out to avoid getting AoEd by this poison. Huhuran will use this attack throughout the entire fight.

# Hunters must be on the ball with tranquilizing when she is frenzied ("Huhuran goes into a killing frenzy") -- it boosts her melee power a lot. When she is frenzied, hunters have aproxximately 5 secs to tranquilize her before she begins shooting poison volleys randomly at the raid. The frenzy at the 30% is a HARD ENRAGE and cannot be tranquilized. ("Huhuran goes into a berserker rage"). Huhuran will no longer frenzy after 30%. Hunters should then focus DPS and maintaining the Nature Resistance Aura--especially on the Main Tank's group.

# Princess Huhuran's most significant ability is her 30% mode. At this time, the closest 15 people ("NR soaks") will take monumental amounts of nature damage (2,000 damage every 5 seconds) and will require high Nature Resistance. They need as much NR as possible, gimping all other stats. No one else needs nature resistance for this encounter other than those 15 people (ideally rogues and warriors). The Dwarven racial skill Stoneform will make the player immune to Huhuran's poison spit for 8 seconds, while still being counted as one of the 15 soaks. It is recommended that players use this ability after their nature protection potion has expended.

# Warlocks can put on Curse of Doom at 45%. As long as no one knocks CoD off, this will cause Huhuran to take massive amounts of damage right after she hits 30%. All DPSers should use trinkets and cooldowns as soon as she hits 30%, to take her into Execute range ASAP.

# After 5 minutes she will spam poison volley, similar to enraging at 30%. Like Battleguard Sartura, her timered enrage is MUCH more deadly than her lower HP rage and is guaranteed to wipe your raid. However, it is advantageous to have her enrage as late as possible due to mana and agro concerns. Pace your raid. You want to be able to have the mana to burst damage at 30% and be able to AoE Heal your melee parties. AoE healing is dangerous, if the healer is silenced the entire party is doomed and you have a big hole in your meatwall. An alternate strategy is to assign a healer to each person in the meatwall and pray a healer isn't silenced

Hunter specific tips:
- All hunters should be poison-sponges
- So get max 255nr (+ 60nr from aura which equals 315 which is the cap)
- Split up hunters in 2 tranq-shooting teams with at least 2 hunters in each team
- The teams take turns in tranq-shooting as if they were 1 person, this is because the low hit rating we get from wearing nr-gear
- Feign death and drink often so you'll have 100% mana at 30%
- Summon pet (which you have healed up and dismissed before the fight) right before 30%
- When Huhuran enrages send in pet as sponge, priests poh will keep them up easily

People who place 15 and only 15 people in the wall often struggle, By putting an extra 2-3 people in there, if a tank happens to die, a lose poison volley wont leave the "wall group"

So what we do is have 5 priests, in seperate groups, with the other 4 members in each group being in the wall. Hunter pets go in also to eat the Wyren Sting, so thats groups 1-5 all getting AoE heal, 6,7,8 is the mages/warlocks/druids, who heal MT and top up priest AoE healers.

As a general note mages, should save all their big CDs like trinkets or arcane power untill 30%. Keep in mind that you need to get her to execute % so the warriors that are not afflicted by Sleep can bring her down fast.
All in all a Nature Resistance fight like Vael with FR.

For this fight warlocks should coordinate a cumulative curse of doom at 40%, all locks curse and those whos curses get resisted should take care of CoE and CoS.

1. We will need 15 players with >200NR unbuffed. The MT's should attempt to reach max NR of 300.
2. DO NOT Dispell this fight. The Wyvern Sting will cause 4K damage if dispelled.

Healing should be set up similar to a Ebonroc/Broodlord fight for the first phase. Tanks will rotate based on the

number of Acid Spit debuffs they have. After 30% our 3 High NR Priests will move into position with their parties and spam PoH.

* Priests, Paladins, and Druids
Standard raid healing with emphasis on melee first. Rogues must survive until the 30% call.
* Cleansers
None

2. Combat Strategy

* Party Composition
Healing, Tanking, Melee DPS, and Mages should be evenly divided between the Odd and Even Raid parties. Hunters should be spread through the parties as much as possible for AotW. Three groups will be designated HIGH NR groups and will move into position at the 32% Call.
* Postioning
Huhuran Tanking Position
- The Princess will be tanked in the middle of the room.
- The raid will spread out as much as possible in a half circle around her.
- Melee will will engage in the middle with the MT

The Acid Spit is definately resistable. I was MT on this back in the day and on some kills we could get to 30% using only one tank switch when we got lucky on acid spit resists. Otherwise we'd simply switch around 6 stacks or so (or whenever the OT managed to pull aggro).

That being said the fight did get easier by not equipping NR gear on the tanks since it allowed the tanks to do more threat (tier 2 vs level 45 greens) and thus the raid to do more dps and thus the fight was over more quickly.

A sigh of relief, no matter what raiding level the guild was on (ie Huhuran level or KT), there was always a sigh of relief to see a dead boss on this fight. Such a pain in the butt! But a very big sense of accomplishment each time you killed her.

i suggest abolish poison on all raid constantly to remove Wyvern Sting. it could deal some damage upon dispell but still its far better than 10 seconds of sleep stun during which raid still getting poison damage and also doesnt dps (means time goes and poison keeps stacking for more damage).

using abolish poison we 4manned her without much problems.

I didn't see it mentioned here but the first few guilds to access Princess Huhuran downed her with suspicious ease only to later see the sub 30% berserk implemented.

Quite apart from any interesting boss mechanics or difficulty (new ICC 5 man bosses have same HP) the feel of this fight, and the spinning wasps in general in this part of AQ, have an epic feeling.

How on earth do u tame her? i tried with 4 other people and she killed us and every time i tried to tame it just stopped she killed us in the end :(

Managed to solo tame her and solo all the way up to her..

My strategy was Spirit Beast for Prophet Skeram with this spec.

Go up to the top of the platform and Feign Death behind the Pillar in the back right, make sure your pet stays up on the top and just do Spirit Mend when it's off CD, also have Cower on autocast, takes roughy 6 - 7 minutes for your pet to kill Prophet Skeram.. May take a few tries, but you'll get it. :)

Since the trio is optional you don't have to go to them, that's unless you want to tame one of them. (Lord Kri, Princess Yauj and Vem)
(I did put a detailed guide on how to tame the trio up on their pages too)

Once you get to Battleguard Sartura.. Make sure all the trash in the room is clear then proceed to pull him, I personally used my Spirit Beast again for this while I was in Feign Death, cast Spirit Mend when it's off CD and have Cower on autocast, will take you about 5 - 7 minutes for your pet to kill Battleguard Sartura.... May take a few tries but you'll get it. :)

Now you're at the hallway with all those bugs... Dismiss your pet.
Simply run through the hallway now all the way to the end and to the right past Fankriss the Unyielding.
Once you're in the other hallway which is to the right of Fankriss the Unyielding use your Feign Death.. You might disconnect here but as long as you hit Feign Death before you do you should be fine.
Now call your pet, I recommend using a Turtle(or Beetle) with this spec.. Go to the end of this hallway and clear the room with Princess Huhuran in it, now that this is done, Dismiss your current pet.. Run up to her pop Deterrence and begin Taming.

Congratulations on your new pet. :)

This boss is one of the hardest i have ever tried to solo. However it is doable as a lvl 85 blood deathknight with a few point into frost to get Lichborne. The main thing is to focus and make sure to use every single cooldown you possibly can.
Start the fight with army and simply nuke. Once you start takeing more dmg from poison start to use cooldowns. Also Dk's have the great advantage when stacks start to hurt. They can actually reset the stack useing Dark Simulacrum to prevent the boss from putting another stack on you and by doing that alove the debuff to run out. If you find yourself takeing to much damage while being asleep simply use lichborne and then pop a cooldown or 2.

For those that like the color of this wasp but do not like the Boss model.....there will be a new wasp in patch 4.0.6 in Uldum that has Huhuran's colors mapped onto a non-boss silithid wasp model.

When I first saw this wasp was going to be tameable before Cata relase I couldnt wait to tame her, When it was relasesd or rather after the shattering I got a PUG and went into AQ40 to tame this beauty, When we got to her a noob warrior kept attacking her when i was trying to tame her and eventully killed her :( I was heartbroken, im lvl 85 now and tryed to do AQ40 just me and my warlock friend, but kept failing on first boss, Then my hunter friend from my guild told me to get my spirt beast outta the stables, I choose one and specced him the way my friend told me to, then I made a macro that uses the spirt beasts spell, 'Spirt Mend' I then went into AQ40 solo, and my friend talked me through it, My spirt beast soloed the first boss no problem with me un armed in feign death the whole fight using macro, I got through whole raid fine listening to my friend, I then got to excited when i got near wasp room and pulled to many trash and died :( but next morning i awoke and my hunter friend joined me in AQ40, first boss was down still so we did it fine and I tamed her :) So happy and easily my fav pet, named her MIniboss

Not so easy to dps down as a ret paladin. The silence will affect our dps and selfhealing quite a bit. Was a close call, had to use LoH. Fight lasted around 4mins.

Tamed it today on my hunter. Getting to Princess Huhuran was tough. The 1st boss of this raid instance was a pain to try and solo for a hunter (85). So I asked a guildie to raid group up and invited my DK to solo run through the instance up to Huhuran. Even for my DK it was tough with the trash. Yes the trash. While they do not hurt much, but their ability hurts. Some will punt you in the air so high and you take a fall damage that could kill you. So you will have to pull it against the nook and cranies of the wall so you don't fly so high. Other than that, the trash is simple. The 2nd boss of the instance wasn't too bad for my DK, just kill. I can imagine my hunter having no issues with that boss either as it was just DPS. Now moving to the 3rd boss, it could be a pain because of the mortal wound and some adds that aggro here and there, but its another DPS fight. It could be complicated for my hunter because there are some hard hits even at level 85. Now moving to finally Princess Huhuran. The trash to it was simple, and if you finally got to her, congrats. Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through so much work just to get a unique skinned pet... lol.

Soloable (barely) with an 85 Shadow Priest (363 iLvl). My shadow fiend & card-board assassin belt tinker allowed me to stay outside melee range so I could avoid the AoE sleep. Kept DoTs up and PW:S on cooldown to minimize the nature damage. Mind Blast/Flay when possible (difficult between the sleep and silence). When PW:S was still on cooldown and damage was getting heavy, I used Dispersion (after refreshing my DoTs) to get the 90% reduction. Long story short: I died right as my DoTs finished him.

Thoughts:
I've seen videos of a frost mage being able to do this, but I think a warlock might have a little easier time than I did, having a perm pet and DoTs and all...

Nabbed this guy just now on my 85 Fury Warrior (ilevel 342). Talk about a DPS race... killed her with 1K HP left and while her corpse was there, the poison (15 stacks easily by that point) finished the job. Oh well, rez and continue on!

Basically for a melee, all she'll do is attack, spit poison (stackable) at you and also put you to sleep for 10 seconds at a time. Have fun! At 15 stacks, poison will do around 4K HP/tick. Even as a Nightelf with some Nature Resist, it was still hurting a lot.

Easy to solo as mutilate rogue. I'm a lvl 85 with ilvl 360, and did it with a healthy deal of hp left.

Keep recuperate up, and save your cloak of shadows for when you have a large amount of poison stacked on you. Nothing much to say other than nuke away! If you have any cd's, you might want to hold on for when she goes into berserker rage.

Level 90 Arcane Mage, only 465 level gear, soloed everything up to her easily enough - with her constant lock, stun and sleep I found popping mirrors at the start and just keeping nether tempest and ice block up, spamming them when silenced for whatever reason, killed her effectively. Took awhile, though, as I was mostly asleep for the whole fight.

After a failed attempt to solo her in my 90 mage, I would like to point out that damage taken does NOT cancel the sleep from wyvern sting. She was able to keep me unable to do anything for 6 whole minutes before she finally managed to kill me.

lvl 85 JP/DS/DS-Raid Finder geared Unholy DK. Went into fight with AotD, Pet, Gargoyle, DPS like mad, got stunned, silenced, and put to sleep. AotD shredded her. She died while I was asleep during the enrage, was ready to pop IBF as soon as the sleep wore off but she died. Did in Blood presence, 133k HP, finished fight around 103k. Very easy to solo.

Is Huhuran as large as Cida (wasp with same coloration and "boss" appearance rare) after taming or is Cida unique? If only Cida stays large, I'll have to camp her instead of taming Princess.

90 Arcane Mage ilvl 445. I kept up my Rune of Power for health regen while she wailed on me, and threw Living Bomb and Arcane Barrage every chance I could get, since they're instant casts and did the most amount of damage between her sleeps and stuns. About 3/4 of the way through I popped Mirror Image and they about finished her off... one more Living Bomb and she was done. Easy as long as you know how to work between the stuns.

Many people look at the vanilla WoW raids with that old nostalgia feel as the "good old days" with 40 man raiding. To me, this specific boss fight is a fascinating look at both the cool parts (the scale, size of the raid and prestige) and the really crazy parts. Here was my guild's experience on this boss in those days.

While resistance gear requirements weren't new when this instance was released (tanks needed fire resist gear on Ragnaros, and the Onyxia Scale Cloak on Firemaw), this was the first (but not the last!) fight where many players had to grind entire sets of gear specifically for one fight or the raid stood *no* shot at beating it. This fight was Blizzard basically saying "OK, now 15 of you need to go and grind Nature Resist gear to go any further." That really meant far more than 15, as not everyone could make it every raid night on progression and the natural guild turnover that was bound to happen required re-gearing players.

On the one hand, it was really neat the way the game had you going all over the place to find all of the Best-in-Slot gear, including lots of Maraudon, the old World Dragons, 20-25 man quests in Silithus, and the seemingly endless Abyssal Scepter farming to gear the raid. But all of this could be equally viewed as horrendously tedious and odd design to do so much pre-work and going all over for one fight, especially if you were on a PvP server and had other competing guilds to contend with world bosses and grinding. (There were entire guides dedicated just to gearing up your character in nature-resist gear to be on the "wall".)

Our raid leader was a Warlock, one of only a small handful we could get in our guild as solid raiders. He was in charge of handing out all of the Nature Resist potions on this fight too (which required a lot of farming of course), and all of the warlocks had to pre-farm at least 30+ shards before any raid night, as healthstones were created one at a time and required one shard each (same with summoning). All of the downtime spent on getting the nature potions and healthstones distributed were pretty staggering.

When I consider the turn-around time and preparation between progression fights of today and progression fights back then, there are certainly a lot of positive changes that I am grateful for. It's funny to wrap my head around all that was required in AQ40 and Naxxramas progression, and all of the preparation that resulted in so few true progression attempts per night compared to now. I'll be the first to say that there have been many boss encounters since then and even now (heroic or otherwise) that are every bit as challenging as the vanilla raids have been, but few have come close to the backwards gear-checks, strange requirements and insane amount of preperation as the vanilla days. But on the other hand, it felt good to be a part of a progression guild at a time when raiding the latest content was a premium experience.

Cakewalk as a poorly geared (by late MoP standards) lvl 90 assassination rogue - down in 29 seconds (429/414 ilvl weapons, a 399 trinket, 408 shoulders, 429 bracers, four 496 items from timeless isle, two 476 crafted pvp items and the rest ilvl 450 blues). She didn't even get a wyvern sting off and the poison never stacked high enough for me to bother cloaking it off - I threw up recuperate near the start and was at darn near full health the whole battle. Didn't use CDs or anything, it was over so fast.

Pretty amusing... and rather satisfying, as the last time I saw this boss was on my druid at lvl 60.

There's just something about Huhuran that I wish I knew lore about her. I know Hearthstone isn't meant to be canon, but she says "Soon I will be queen" upon summoning. It just begs the mind to think who or what she'd replace, and why she's even a Princess. Like who gave her the title, and why? So much lore that could possibly be, that never will be.
